January: week 3

Sunday

  • Breakfast: Banana-Sauce Muffins*, Milk
  • Lunch: Large Whole Baked Chicken (save 1/2 cup chx broth), Mashed Potatoes & Gravy, Brown Sugar Sweetened Carrots (use 1 1/2 bags), Cranberry Sauce
  • Dessert: Ice cream Sundae (vanilla, with choc. syrup  whip crm)

Monday

  • Breakfast: 1/2 banana, cereal, milk
  • Lunch: 1/2 Chx salad* sandwich w/lettuce & a few chips
  • Dinner: Wild Rice Chicken*(make 1 for freezer; 1 for now)& Salad
  • Treat: sliced Orange

Tuesday

  • Breakfast: PB toast, apple slices, milk
  • Lunch: 1/2 chx salad sandwich w/lettuce & a few chips
  • Dinner: Left-overs with steamed green beans & sea salt
  • Treat: Sliced Orange

Wednesday

  • Breakfast: Scrambled eggs, bacon & toast w/orange juice
  • Lunch: Salad topped w/chx, mandarine oranges, sliced almonds
  • Dinner: Chili Con Carne* in crock pot w/Cornbread (Thank you Bobbi-Jo Bassler for this idea of re-making the same dish!)
  • Treat: scoop of ice cream

Thursday

  • Breakfast: Left-over muffins, milk
  • Lunch: Salad topped w/chx, mandarine oranges, almonds
  • Dinner: Goulash (just add 1 cup of water & 1 cup of elbow noodles to crock pot) w/left-over cornbread
  • Treat: Applesauce

Friday

  • Breakfast: 1/2 banana, cereal, milk
  • Lunch: BLT sandwich w/a few chips
  • Dinner: Rosemary Chx Quessadillas* w/salad
  • Treat: Milkshakes

Saturday

  • Brunch: Veggie Omelet* w/onion homefries
  • Dinner: Spaghetti alla Ceci* w/salad
  • Treat: Ice cream Sundae

Grocery List (I shopped at Wegmans! Total was exactly $35.00!!!

  • 5 bananas – 0.92
  • 4 oranges – (8 lg naval for 2.99)
  • 8 apples – in bag for 2.97
  • 1 large head romaine lettuce – 2.59
  • 2 bags baby carrots – free in frig
  • 1 stalk celery – free in frig (fif)
  • 1 green pepper – fif
  • 3 onions – fif
  • 8-10 large white potatoes -fif
  • 1 pck. sliced almonds – doing without
  • 1 jar mayonnaise – fif
  • 2 (10 3/4 oz) cans condensed cream of mushroom soup – 2.58
  • 2 (6 1/4 oz) pck. quick-cook long grain & wild rice – 1.78
  • 1 pkg. elbow macarroni noodles – .89
  • 1 lb. spagetti – fif
  • 2 (8 oz) cans sliced water chestnuts – doing without
  • 1 (14 oz) can crushed tomatoes – .49
  • 1 (14 1/2 oz) can chopped tomatoes – .49
  • 1 (8 oz) can tomato sauce – free in pantry (fip)
